The mothers that brought kids to Club Extra asked if they could stay and learn too. So now Salitre and the Pueblo Viejo sites, both offer the mothers computer and some agricultural training in a program called “Extraordinary Mothers”. They are eager to learn as they wait for the children attending Club Extra. One enthusiastic mother in training took the classes and was emboldened enough to seek a job. She secured a position teaching basic computer classes to adult students in a larger town an hour and a half away.
